The Raw after Wrestlemania is always full of surprises to help keep the momentum going from the biggest show of the year, and this year’s was no different. We saw our new WWE World Heavyweight champion celebrate and defend his title again, a new Diva’s champion was crowned and multiple vignettes for Superstars we’re sure to see in the very near future. The vignettes for new Superstars always intrigue me because I start to think about something that I think everybody else does too… NEW FEUDS! I wanted to take the time to pick out three feuds we could see in the future.
The first feud that I am STOKED to be finally seeing is Paige vs. AJ Lee. I have been one of many clamoring for Paige to be brought up to the main roster so she could do a program with AJ and on Monday, a little more than the seeds were planted for that. Not only did Paige make her debut, she ended AJ’s 295 day title reign… on her debut! I’m not sure why they decided to put the belt on Paige that quickly but this will lead us to an even better match most likely at Extreme Rules. This will be a real test because AJ is good on the mic and the Raw and Smackdown audiences don’t have much reference of Paige unless they watch NXT. Paige is getting thrown in the fire for her first feud and I can’t wait to see her character grow and all of the great matches we’re in store for.
The next feud that I’d be interested to see would be Bray Wyatt vs. Bo Dallas. We saw Bo Dallas’ vignette air on Raw and it’s only a matter of time before he re-debuts. His first run was forgettable as an entrant in the Royal Rumble and then getting a win over Wade Barrett. Now considering Bray Wyatt is in a program with John Cena at the moment, the program with Bo wouldn’t be for a while. I’d be intrigued if this feud were to develop because of the fact that Bo and Bray are actually brothers. Now, I would understand wanting to keep them apart to build Bo as his own person but this story writes itself. Bray starts haunting Bo and playing mind games for a few weeks. The reason being that Bray is upset that his own brother wouldn’t listen to him and went on his own path. This is your classic “heel get’s the better of the babyface and then get’s beat at the PPV.” This would build Bo as a babyface and with a win over Bray it would give him some serious credibility. The only problem with this is the fact that Bray is still being built up as well and this would slow down his momentum. While it’s not likely this feud would happen, it’s one that would be easy to digest because it plays into their real lives as well.
The last program that I started thinking about is Alexander Rusev vs. Big E. I feel like it’s only a matter of time until this program gets started. I don’t think this is the first title Rusev goes after though. I think that he first takes down Dean Ambrose and becomes the US Champion. This would be almost a repeat of what Antonio Cesaro did when he won; it’s the European Superstar saying he’s better than any American US Champion there has been before him. After he’s had a substantial reign, this is when the two big boys meet. This is where the US Title and the Intercontinental Title are combined. They didn’t have the match at Wrestlemania because the Shield ended up involved in something as a group. I’m not sure what “special” this match would happen at, but I think it would be a very interesting build up. Normally two big men aren’t inclined to have a spectacular match, and while this wouldn’t be a Daniel Bryan quality match, these two guys move quickly for big men. Both Big E and Rusev are explosive when delivering certain moves. This match would be a much more intriguing Title combination match than Ambrose vs. Big E.
This is just the tip of the iceberg moving forward. With rumblings that Sami Zayn and The Ascension are on the list to be brought up as well, the main roster is about to get a LOT more intriguing. Gone are the days that there are only 3 or 4 guys worth watching. Lack of talent is no longer the problem. Whether Creative can figure out what to do with all of these Superstars or not is the real question. I could see The Ascension going after The Usos eventually and I hope that the Raw or Smackdown audience gets to witness Sami Zayn and Cesaro put on a clinic. Who are you most excited about coming up? What feuds do you want to see? Let me know in the comments below!!
