Who’s Going to Steal the Show This Sunday

Wrestlemania 29

This Sunday, as everyone knows, is Wrestlemania.  The one day that all eyes are on the wrestling world.  As WWE likes to say, this is the Superbowl of pro wrestling.  With everyone watching, and the world wanting to be impressed, the question is…who is going to do it?  Which superstar or superstars are going to give it more than their “A” game.  Who is going to go out there, and make sure they are remembered forever in history because of their match.  The fact of the matter is that everyone who is performing on Sunday is going to TRY and be that person.  Just because they are going to try, though, doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.  Here’s who I think have the best shot of blowing us all away Sunday night.

CM Punk vs. The Undertaker

Let’s face it, the odds are better that these two guys are going to steal the show.  Not only are they a “main event” match, but these are two guys who can straight WRESTLE.  They are also two guys that know the business better than almost anyone else.  Taker and Punk live and breath the wrestling business and know it on a different level.  Both of these superstars know what it takes to put on a legendary main event wrestling match.  This match is the one I see having the highest possibility of being “the” match.

Team Hell No vs. Dolph Ziggler and Big E Langston

I honestly didn’t think this match had any potential at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked it.  You’ve got two extremely talented wrestlers in Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler.  These two guys could tear the house down by themselves.  Then you add in the element of Kane and Big E being the powerhouses.  The combination of pure skilled wrestlers and powerhouses is actually usually a good combination, it adds another dimension to the  match, which could be very, very beneficial to the over all quality of the match.  The only thing that has me concerned is Big E.  We haven’t seen him wrestle before (on WWE TV) and he’s got a lot of pressure riding on his shoulders with this being his first match, first pay per view, and it’s all at Wrestlemania for a championship.  He is either going to rise to the occasion or make himself look incredibly green.

Chris Jericho vs. Fandango

These two guys have an excellent opportunity to really steal the show because to be honest, there is a great deal of hype around Fandango’s abilities backstage.  That said the fans themselves have no real idea what Fandango can do.  Chris Jericho can flat out wrestle and is one of the best in the business.  He also seems more than willing to pass the torch on to the younger stars.  Fandango can really step up and show off his in-ring skills and really earn the respect of the fans, the other stars, and the creative team.  Jericho and Fandango, especially opening the show, have the opportunity to steal the show, set the tone for Wrestlemania, and pull an underdog moment of the year.

Honestly any match on the card has the potential to steal the show, these are just the matches that I see having the highest probability of coming out and knocking everyone’s socks off.  Who knows the heavyweight match-up of Ryback and Mark Henry could blow us away.  Maybe, the No Holds Barred match between Triple H and Brock Lesnar will be the match that people won’t stop talking about.  Heck!  Even John Cena and The Rock might sweep us off our feet and be the match everyone  is buzzing about.   Agree with my picks?  Disagree? Which match do you think will be the most memorable?  Let me know below in the comments thread.
